Lolita Goals & End of Year Review 2016-17

2017

I'm saving!

 No spending for Eighteen months!!!

  • My Lolita goals will be to get creative with what I have, which is a lot. My wardrobe room is jammed with gorgeous clothes I barely touch as the bins get to go out more than I do, so perhaps dressing up more should be a goal of mine also.
  • I started a #100daysoflolita last September but life got in the way, perhaps I can start that up again. I took it to another level of 100 co-ords which was killing me a bit to keep up, I think I made it into the thirties before I became too busy to continue, although I love the idea of having a huuuuge folder of creative coordinates to look back on.
  • My partner is a photographer but I am really fussy about photo's and I hate looking at myself but maybe when the weather is warmer it's time to get frilled up and take some ootd's in my favourite places such as the boyne valley, loughcrew, killykeen park and the cavan burren. We have such great natural landscapes and archaeological sites here.
  • I also hope to create a hitlist of remaining wishlist items, I saw one in a thread on Rufflechat and I thought it was a great idea. The idea was to have wishlist items pasted on a board with the dresses bought crossed out boldly with an X - which I am sure serves as great inspiration & motivation to it's owner. I am slowly adding to my wishlist here https://www.pinterest.com/hareinthehills/
  •  I think my small little Lolita Journal is deserving an overhaul, it's a bit messy right now. There are crossed out procured items everywhere and reams of lists of things I wanted then fell out of love with, also I ended up with so many items I didn't leave enough pages in between so my jsks start on one page, then begin again 10 pages on. I might try to scrapbook it. I think it's a bit much to transfer to pinterest, but who knows, maybe I will find the time.

    End of year review

I tend to keep a slow steady stream of fun money to spend on Lolita it's not much:40 euro's a week, an early bird dinner out to some or a cinema date with popcorn but it adds up as I keep everything I buy. I've added quite a bit this year to my wardrobe. I discovered Japanese fashion selling apps and truly did a lot of bargain hunting.

    main pieces 169-
    28 OP's
    65 Jsk's
54 bought skirts, 23 handmade Skirts.

I bought a looooot of florals. They are my new favourite thing.
It's a bit shameful, the excess of it, but that dichotomy is at the heart of my personality.
In my daily wear, I went another direction and tried project 333, employing a capsule wardrobe. I also streamlined my beauty routine in the same way, leaving me with 9 items that I use daily. It has not hindered me one bit. I don't miss having boxes of beauty products I never use or that don't suit me.
I urge you to try the capsule wardrobe, it works well for my daily wear as it's just for around the house with my mr & dogs or going for messages. If I am going anywhere else I make an effort and dress in Lolita. I am sure project 333 would be very doable for a daily lolita if you picked mostly versatile, plainer items.
I think I could just as happily live out of a suitcase as well as a carefully curated large closet,so I feel I have the best of both worlds - A beautiful opulent lolita closet brimming with prints that makes my heart sing & a practical, if unmemorable useful small daily closet.

Recent Coords

I recently started a 100 days of lolita challenge, here are my outfits for the first couple of weeks. I am hoping it will help me pick out new combinations.

It's the little things that make an outfit: Adorable Accessories

I recently bought this bunny ring from enchantlic enchantilly and am in love.

Nine times out of ten I will lean towards wanting to add more but try to keep it simple, like here

Happy International Lolita Day

I am spending the day in my frills with the pugs reading a good book!
